My Opinion on Some Choice Items from AG's February 2015 Release

Long titles. Tsk tsk, Ellie. Why.

:)

So hi y'all. :)

Today I'll be saying my opinions on some of the items AG just released in their February 2015 collection. I won't be stating my opinion on every single thing released, just ones I have strong opinions on. So here we go! :)

OMG OMG OMG YES. I love the coloring - mint green is one of my favorites. And those red shoes are too cute! :) Wicked adorable.

Grace's Pastry Cart meets 1904, anyone?

THE FEELS THE FEELS THE FEELS THE FEELS. There used to be this awesome Samantha game on the AG website where you could paint pictures like she would have in 1904 (comment down below if you remember that game, too), and this just brings back so many memories of it.....yas. Feels.

*drops dead from feels overload*
This reminds me %100 of the days before Samantha's retirement - other than the color (I hate too much pink), it's a very beautiful piece. :)

I bet you're all super tired of hearing me rant about my darling Samantha, so let's move onto other dollies:

Now, don't get all excited, folks: this outfit contains only the tutu, ballet shoes, and tiara.
Bleck. :P
Let me tell ya'll something: anyone could make the tutu themselves, get ballet shoes for $6.00 here, and buy a tiara of better quality and smaller price at any craft or birthday store.
Yeah.

No.

Daaaaaaaang. I am literally sitting here in dumbfounded awe, struggling to get my mind around the fact that a company as awful as American Girl could produce an outfit as beautiful as this. Addy looks gorgeous, the color scheme is incredible and makes her shine, and the little accessories are TOO ADORABLE! :) And it comes with the boots - yay!!!! (Most of Addy's outfits don't come with shoes.) If it weren't for the steep price - $48 - I would snatch this up in a heartbeat. :)

Quite cute! Kit looks very adorable in this outfit. I admit, I had been hoping recently that AG would bring out an overalls set for her to replace the old retired one, and I am quite pleased with this (true, I was hoping for androgynous ones like her old pair had been, but this is AG so whaddaya expect). Still, the colors are bright and cheery and bring a smile to my face, and the design is super cute. Plus, those shoes..........gaaah, those shoes! They are seriously one of the best parts of the outfit, and I would buy them alone if I could. :)

Overall, I think this was a fairly good release for the historicals (besides Julie and her weirdness) and a sub-par one for the MyAGs. Just hop on over to the site yourself and look at all the ugly, puke-green, lacy yuckiness. And I wish Caroline and Josefina would have gotten limited edition sets - they never do. I would have thought AG would rotate who gets limited edition sets. But, ya know - this is AG. :P

What do you think of the new items? Is anything on your wishlist? Comment down below!

Have a lovely rest of the day, and remember that you are all very beautiful pickles. :)

Ellie

  1. Hum-I think my favorite is Kit's. It's the chicken that got me...; )

    Second-Samantha's is rather cute!

    Julie's-May I just say....YUCK?

    Addy's-Not bad....

    Samantha's pink coat-Luv it!

Ballet outfit-It's cute(I'm a ballerina), but I already have a dance outfit. And I don't wear TUTUS in class.

    1. Ah, yes. Kit's has to be my second favorite (next to Addy, who, in my opinion, stole the show 100%). The chicken is VERY cute - I think it would look really cute paired with Caroline's Work Dress and Garnet! :)

On Julie's dress: I agree. *shuns dress for all eternity*

  2. Julie's outfit made me shudder. It's probably historically accurate but still. No. >_<
Personally I don't like a whole lot of stuff. Mainly because I'm one of the few people in the world who can not stand that vibrant pink color. :P
I do like Kit's outfit though. The chicken is adorable. ^-^

    1. IKR. It's just.....*turns head away, sticks nose up in the air, and sniffs disdainfully*
Ah, yes - pink. :P. I do like it when it's done well and in small amounts, but I don't want an entire doll line drenched in pink. Plus, some shades AG has been using lately are quite ugly. Soft pinks and maroons are fine, but hot pink everything? I don't think so.
YAS YAS YAS THE CHICKEN :D

    2. Exactly. xD
I like a very light, pastel pink, but that's honestly it. The shades they choose just always seem to bright and fake to me. >__<
YAS THE CHICKEN MUST BE OURS.

    3. They do - very inaccurate, like they were just chosen to appeal to the small population of typical blond-haired blue-eyed rich little white girls that AG always seems to want to cater to above anyone else. :P
YES WE SHALL GO TO THE NEAREST AGPLACE AND KIDNAP ONE AND TAKE IT HOME AND NAME IT LEE JR. AND PET IT AND KEEP IT AND IT SHALL BE OURS. :D
      (gosh that sounded really creepy)

  3. The only one I want badly is Addy's outfit, but it dosent look like you can take off the apron.
And I would want kit's overalls if they were normal overalls and not.... Whatever that is.

    1. Hmmm......you're right, it does sort of look attached. I shall have to look up some review videos on AGTube to see about that.
Yes, you're right - they are wicked adorable, but they do look kinda babyish. :P

  4. "Grace's Pastry Cart meets 1904, anyone?"
I'm going to go look up some burn centers now, because American Girl is going to need to go to urgent care for that one. xD
Personally, I think this release was pretty adorable (aside from the one dress in Julie's collection, which is going to haunt me in my nightmares) and I'm actually really impressed! Whoever did these collection items is doing a great job. :)

    1. Hah! Well, they'll need it for yours too. :)
IKR - especially with Addy. I feel like one of the best things about the release of BF is that since then AG has been paying waaaaay more attention to her and giving her really cute and fantastic outfits, especially compared with what she got before.

  5. I have Samantha, so I am kind of partial to her. Anyway, I remember that Samantha game. I loved it! I love to draw and paint, so of course I loved it. :) I have her old paints, and I like them so much better then the new one. The old paints are real! You could actually paint with them! They came in cute little tubes, with a wood pallet, not plastic. Isn't it amazing how much AG has changed?

    1. IKR - she's awesome.
OH MY GOODNESS SOMEONE REMEMBERS THAT GAME YAS. :) IKR - it was literally the best thing. I liked it waaaay better than her scavenger hunt because I could never complete the latter.
The old one sounds a lot better. This new one looks very plastic-y to me.
Yes, AG has changed, and I'm afraid not for the better. Unrealistic clothes, poor quality, and higher prices. It's why, other than the dolls, I don't buy anything from them anymore. Caroline's Meet Outfit, for example, is such poor quality fabric it's nearly see-through, but Kirsten's was very sturdy and well-made. *sigh*
