Imagine President Ted Cruz: Mutterings, Musings, and Suchlike #7

So, as some of you may know, I play the piano and have for quite some time. Every year in May, I have a recital with all the other students of the teacher I take from and the students of her business partner. It's quite a nerve-wracking event, especially as I've gotten older and the pieces have gotten harder and I've become more self-conscious when performing. But it's all worth it because at the end I get super good coffee (brewed by my piano teacher, she and her husband own a local coffee company) and yummy cookies, and it's just a really fun experience anyhow - even if I do get rather jittery :). This year I'll be playing three pieces: Danse Macabre by Camille Saint-Saëns, Witches' Dance by Theodor Kullak, and La Cucaracha. So yeah.

Burn, baby, burn. :)

GUYZ GUYZ GUYZ GUESS WHAT.

SABRINA CARPENTER'S FIRST ALBUM IS COMING OUT ON THE FOURTEENTH OF APRIL AND I'M SO EXCITED LIKE SHE HAS TO BE ONE OF MY FAVORITE ARTISTS AND HER ALBUM'S FINALLY COMING OUT AND I'VE BEEN DYING SO LONG FOR IT AND YEEEEESSS.

(The title does strike me as somewhat uncreative and mainstream, though. :P Oh well.)

I've never read Harry Potter (pls don't kill me). I tried to once, but I got 3/4 of the way through the first book before giving up because it was just so boring and mainstream and predictable and ugh. No. Admittedly, I once read a few pages of a book from later in the series, and it was quite good - but I don't have the patience or time to slug through the awfulness of the first few books in order to get to the rest. So, I'm thinking I'll rent the movies. I know they're not the same as the books and I really should read the books because they're better and the movies deviate horribly all that stuff the fandom's going to through at me the moment I publish this, but otherwise idk if I'll be able to do it. So there. Movies it is.

Also, what house do you guys think I'd be in? I got pretty far through the first book, if we'll remember, so I know a bit about the houses. A bit. Most of my friends say I'd be in Ravenclaw, which I buy and agree with. Some dissent and say Slytherin, which I think I'd be fine with too. What do you guys think? :)

You don't know how freakin' hard I laughed at this. :D

SO I HAVE A CUPCAKE APP AND I MADE ALL THE COLORS FOR CUPCAKES:

Also, the other day I went out and took some pictures of Kanani. I had planned to do a photo-shoot post with her, but almost none of the pics turned out. (:P) So here are the few that did:

My fave <3

Idk why, but this one reminds me of the Wizard of Oz somehow. More specifically, the Wicked Witch of the West/Elphaba. Maybe it's the slouch of the hat. Yes, I definitely think it's the slouch of the hat, and the way she seems to be trying to hide by cowering against the fence - or at least go unseen.
(I HAVE NO IDEA I KNOW I'M INSANE 'KAY)

Whelp, that's all for now. Comment down below which cupcake looks yummiest to you! :) I have to say the red one.

SAYONARA, FOLKS, AND REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE ALL VERY VERY VERY BEAUTIFUL PICKLES.

  1. Can I recommend something about Harry Potter? Watch the first 3-4 movies, and read the last few books. :D
That's what my friend is doing, she also read part of #1 and didn't like it, but she loves doing it this way. I feel like a traitor to the fandom for even suggesting this, though.... ;)

    1. Thanks for the suggestion! I might do that - doesn't sound too bad.
Ah, don't worry - we shall be traitors together.

    2. :D

Nice reference. ;) Whenever I try and do it, with no one in the room has read that book; or I say some obscure thing in the book, and I'm the only one who gets it. Sigh,,,,

      MY.
      GOODNESS.
      *explodes*
You're a Tolkien fan too??? My life just keeps getting better and better ;). I LOVE finding fellow fans! It seems like the only people who read it at my school are just my nerdy, geeky little group of friends. :D
Ugh yes that is awful. Like people. Try to be educated.

    4. Ish, yes. :) I just re-read them for the first time in 5 years (I know, I know!) and I am now appreciatting them much more. :D
Yah, the only people I seem to talk to are my nerdy, geeky group of friends, so I get that. Bad things about when all your friends are bookworms: You can never remember which ones have read what and you tend to ask them about the same books over and over again.
:D True, true. I applaud you.

  2. Those pictures of Kanani are so pretty!
EEEKS-Okay, just a warning but the HP movies are nowhere as good as the books. And yes, in the books, there are some parts where it draggggssss, but most of the time it's fine. I think you are a mixture of Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff......IDK....; )
Good luck on your piano recital!

  3. I used to take piano, but I didn't like practicing and did NOT want to do an end of year recital. Nopenopenopenopenope.

    ravenclaw or slytheryn indeed.
NO, DONT YOU DARE WATCH THE MOVIES FIRST!
The movies are assuming that you read the books. They skip a LOT of important bits, so if you haven't read the books you don't know what's going on.
How about you read all the odd numbered books. Those are the best.

The cupcakes remind me of the Cookie Doodle app.

I want Kanani so bad. I was about two years late for that when I discovered AG.

    1. *hides head in shame* yes but darling *pls don't kill me* this is what book summaries are for. Really all I want is to absorb the basic stories and events without reading all those dictionary-thick books.
What's that? I've never seen it. Do you get to make your own cookies? (sounds yummy)
YOUR TIME SHALL COME DEAREST I AM ASSURED OF IT.

    1. Don't say that; you can always learn something new! :) Or look at it this way: I have been playing for seven years. If you play for seven years, we will have been playing for the same amount of time. Assuming we work at about the same rate, we will have the same skill set. It doesn't matter when we got our seven years, it just matters that we both have seven years.
      (if that made any sense)
Thank you!! :) AND UGH THAT SOUNDS AWFUL. I'm so sorry! :P
