Songs I've Been Loving in March 2015

Self-explanatory title. :)

"Team" by Lorde

At least part - if not all - of this is in minor, and we all know I'm a sucker for minor. And I just adore how it's not a mainstream love song. None of her stuff is, and it's soooo refreshing.

"Glory and Gore" by Lorde

I love the idea of this song. "Glory and gore go hand in hand." Very my style; I am very much an Aries. And did I mention it's in minor? :)

"Twin Skeletons (Hotel in NYC)" by Fall Out Boy

I first heard this song here, on Adi's lovely personal. When I initially listened to it, I liked the first twelve or so seconds, but I really wasn't a fan of the rest. Well, recently, I listened to it again, and DANG. Great vocals, catchy, and LISTEN TO THAT BACKGROUND PEOPLES IT'S AMAZING. :D.

"Irrestistable" by Fall Out Boy

So, whilst listening to "Twin Skeletons", the following very novel idea struck me: "Hey, what if FOB has some other good music?"

IKR, *faceplam*

So I listened to the other pieces off their recent album, and this one stuck out. I love the....idk what they are, trumpets or something*.....at the beginning, and how the beat is so strong, and the lyrics are so good and gaaaah yas new favorite song :D.

Lindsey Stirling's Medley of Songs from The Phantom of the Opera, originally by Andrew Lloyd Webber

Well, firstly, it's in minor. That is the most important thing. ;)

Mainly, though, it's because Phantom has incredible music, and Lindsey's version has all the most epic and beautiful tunes in it. Plus, her playing is superb, and it's arranged perfectly. :)

Until next time, have a lovely day, AND REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE ALL VERY VERY BEAUTIFUL PICKLES.

Namarië,
Ellie

*Someone comment below and tell me what those are. It's KILLING me.

  1. So thaaaattt's Fall Out Boy. Not gonna lie I actually really liked those songs. But you're so right the second at the beginning is amazing. Musk it does sound like a trumpet or trombone or something. Waiiiit. Google says "a chorus of brass instruments". Well I'll probably end up joining a new fandom this summer.
Lindsey Stirling though. Literally every time I've watched her play I always love it.

    *coughing and hacking*
And it's a trumpet. There's a fandom joke that goes with it, but yeah, it's a trumpet in Irresistible. =)

Thanks! *hopeful face* may I hear the joke, or must I possess extra fandom knowledge to understand it?

    2. No extra knowledge required.
For a while Fall Out Boy took a hiatus and Patrick Stump did a solo album called Soul Punk. He played every instrument on the album, and there's some quite amusing pictures of him playing this mini trumpet. When Irresistible was streamed everybody went nuts saying it just *had* to be Patrick who was playing it and the pictures were brought up again.
      ...
Now that I explained it it doesn't sound like a joke but it amused all of us so I guess it is. xD
THE GIST OF IT IS; ALL OF US IMAGINE PATRICK PLAYING THE TINY TRUMPET DURING THAT SONG. xD
