A Very Musical Blog Party, Day 4: Favorite Theatre Females

WELL HELLO YOUNG BLOODS.

Today's prompt is "Favorite Theatre Females".

Let's get into it, shall we?

5. Marian (The Music Man)

I love Marian. She both plays piano and loves books, something I can really relate to. And she's a practical, down-to-earth, sensible heroine, unlike most girls-in-love in musicals who are often flighty and wimpy.

4. Eponine (Lés Miserables)

Intensely loyal, Eponine will go to any lengths for her friends, even when it means she's in grave danger or might lose someone close to her. Her street smarts and sacrifices in the face of peril have landed her a number 4 spot on this list.

3. Mary Poppins (Mary Poppins)

Practically perfect in every way, when I was little I used to dream Mary Poppins would land on the sidewalk outside my house to become my nanny and take me on fantastic adventures, like to a tea party on the ceiling or with Bert into the magical land with penguins. Her wardrobe, wit, and magic make her one of the most enchanting female characters ever and land her a number 3 spot on this list.

2. Margy (State Fair)

My grandmother has a big box of video tapes of old musicals, and when I was little I would spend most of my time over at her house watching them, curled up under a blanket with a bowl of popcorn bigger than me. State Fair was one of those I watched most frequently. My eight-year-old self always dreamed to have hair that bounced just like Margy's, and I positively adored her wardrobe. Her love of daydreaming and sharp wit have helped her stay one of my all-time favorites.

1. Reno Sweeney (Anything Goes)

Reno is awesome. A famous nightclub singer who's nevertheless incredibly practical and down-to-earth, she has a sharp tongue and even sharper taste for glamour. In AG, she teams up with convicted criminal Moonface Martin (who shall be discussed tomorrow) and young Wall Street broker Billy Crocker to try to get Billy his dream girl. (They're the ultimate epic mission dream team, tbh.)

Well, that's all for today. Have a lovely evening, and remember that you are all very beautiful pickles.

Namarië,
Ellie

I can't belive how much trouble I am having remembering all the songs.
I can hardly remember anything from that, which is saddening. When I was really little I would watch it all the time at my grandmas. On a vhs tapey thing. I wonder if we still have that....
