It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas #4: Decorating the Christmas Tree + The Nativity Scene + The Majestical Return of Pippin the Shelf Elf

*yay for long titles*

Hey, young bloods! On today's edition of It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, I'm going to be sharing some pictures of our decorated Christmas tree and the Nativity beneath it. Enjoy! :)

I'm sorry but while I was taking the pics of the Nativity I just couldn't get over how it felt like I was taking Holy Family photos. "Joseph, scoot closer to the Blessed Mother." "Yes, I know it's boring, Caspar, but God wants good pictures to send to the angels this year." "FOR GOD'S SAKE, BALTHAZAR, THIS ISN'T A FUNERAL. SMILE A BIT, WOULD YOU??"

Also, guess who's returned? Our Shelf Elf, Pippin! (Since I don't really "believe" in Santa Claus/Shelf Elves anymore and I'm an only child, how we do it in our house is my parents and I each take turns hiding Pippin around the house, and whoever finds him first gets to hide him next.)

Today he sailed in on his boat. Here are a few more pictures of him:

Well, that's all for today! Do you have Shelf Elves? Have you put up your Christmas tree yet? Comment below, and remember that you are all very beautiful pickles. <3

Ellie

  1. Get your act together, Balthazar.
    That was hilarious!
I see you have a...*squints at pictures* REAL TREE! We have a fake tree up right now, so real ones excite me. It's cause of mom and Cole's allergies that we got it, but it's been a few years so now everyone hates that fake tree and misses the smell of Christmas. Cole and I are trying to convince dad to get us a real tree for the other living room.

    1. Thank you!
Aw, that sucks. You must. At least get a mini one for your bedroom or the kitchen or something. My mom got a mini xmas tree as a gift recently, and for some reason my room was deemed the best place in the house to put it because I get the best sunlight or something??? So anyway last night my dad came in and put it on my windowsill. I plan on decorating it - but it needs a name first. Any suggestions?

  2. I put up my Christmas tree two days after Thanksgiving. So yes, it is up.

I only wish I had a Shelf Elf....I really want one....and I'm kind of jealous of Pippin. :(

And also your paragraph about the Holy Family photos was perfection.

  3. Joseph, Mary won't bite. Get closer!

The whole Elf on the Shelf thing scares me a bit, because he seems to be staring right into your soul. xD My (younger) neighbors seem to take great joy in parading around their house with me in tow to show me their elf, so I have to pretend I believe in Santa.
