Do You Know How Long it Took Me to Find a Suitable Fireworks Gif??: Mutterings, Musings, and Suchlike #14

AYYYYY DOES ANYONE REMEMBER THIIS???

NO???

WELL THEN LET ME INTRODUCE Y'ALL

TO MY MUTTERINGS, MUSINGS, AND SUCHLIKE.

LET US BEGIN.

I HATE THIS.

ARE THEY NOT THE CUTEST THINGS. I mean I know usually they're pretty cute but this time they're literal rays of sunshine.

I love how their different personalities show so obviously in this video. xD

I DON'T EVEN WATCH DOCTOR WHO AND I WOULD PAY TO SEE THIS.

UM SO GUYS THIS IS A THING THAT'S HAPPENING.

MY FAVORITE HISTORY AUTHOR IS COMING OUT WITH A NEW BOOK.

AND IT'S ABOUT MY FAVORITE TIME PERIOD.

AND I JUST.

I CAN'T HANDLE MYSELF RIGHT NOW.

MAY TENTH Y'ALL PUT IT ON YOUR CALENDARS.

So it's getting to that time of year when I have to sign up for Sophomore classes (I remember about this time last year being so simultaneously excited and freaked out to sign up for Freshman ones. Ah, memories.) I'm planning on taking:

  • Adv. Chemistry
  • Adv. Algebra II
  • Adv. Eastern Civilization
  • AP European History (what's this yes I'm voluntarily taking two social studies courses I'm a social studies nerd okay??)
  • German II
  • Computer Programming I
  • Adv. English 10
  • And of course the boring required religion courses (I don't even know what their names are lmao)

I was debating possibly taking Agriculture Biotechnology (yes that's the name of one course), Health, or Web Design, but in the end the extra social studies course won out. ;)

(don't even bother commenting okay)

I also plan on getting involved in speech (and maybe ditching Academic Decathlon - I mean, I love the premise, but the organization is pretty shorty).

Oh and also.........I have an EXTREMELY EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!

I'M GOING TO GUATEMALA!!

Yup - I'm going with my school in early June to help build houses! We'll be gone for a week (two days for travel, five days there), and I'm SUPER excited!!!

Well, that's all for today! What have y'all been up to recently? Comment below, and have an awesome day. :)

Namarië,
Ellie

  1. ITS SO COOL THAT YOU'RE GOING TO GUATEMALA!!!! I know it's not until June but I hope you have fun. :)

And I would just like to say something that doesn't relate to this post at all but it's something you need to hear so I'm telling you here.

When I left my doll blog and my doll Instagram (which my Instagram says was 17 weeks ago), you said the most amazing things and I really needed to hear them at the time. I have since gone back to read what you wrote a few times, one of those times being tonight. And then I started to cry because it was just so beautiful and I really needed to hear it (or read it). I could have started to cry (I only cried a little) because I cry at more than you would think (yesterday I seriously cried three times at things I normally wouldn't cry at), but I think I cried because I really needed to read what you wrote. So thank you. You are so gold with words. And I hope you don't mind that this is so long. ❤️

    1. IKR!?!? I'm super excited. Thank you so much!
Oh my Lord, Annie. You're one of my closest friends on here, and of course your comment isn't too long. And you say I'm gold with words but honestly I can't think of what to say; you just. You just mean so much to me, and I'm so happy I could help you (that sounds so cheesy and stupid and demeaning but you get what I mean, I think.) Thank you <3

  2. i would pay too.

i'll definitely check out the book- i always need more to read.

ha ha, i remember one of your first posts i read was the worried ellie about freshmen classes :)
anyway. next year i'll be a freshman (crap nuggets) but i'm not even gonna worry cuz we haven't got classes or anything yet. but, i know i'll be in algebra two and take french 3 (not because i like it but i need to take it to graduate.) why do you have to take religion? do you like german?

ooh, i've always wanted to go to Guatemala to build houses! (i read about in a book, of course) have fun!

    xo

    1. Oh my God I'm sure you'll love it; if Bunker Hill (another one by him on the Revolution I read last year) is any indication it'll be fabulous.
Good luck with those! Yeah, I love it - I feel like, for me, at least, the teacher is really the one who makes or breaks the class, and I love my German teacher.
I have to take religion because I go to a Christian school (Catholic, specifically). Eleventh grade is all about "Morality" and "Social Justice", which will of course be fun *sarcasm*. Idk what Tenth is, though - probably "Jesus Loves You" stuff, which I am willing to put up with as it's a hell of a lot better than "Jesus Hates Gays And Women And People Of Other Races And Other Religions".
      Thank you! :)

  3. I wonder when they're going to make me sign up for sophomore classes.
I'm in biology stight now, cause i skipped science 9 in hopes that biology would be interesting. (I'm sure it would be, if I had a decent teacher.)
And I'm in algebra || right now, but idk if it's advanced or nah. I think next year we have the choice between AP stats and pre calculus???? (Stats I know for sure, I can't remember for sure what the other one was.)
I have no idea what's avalible in the realm of history/ social studies. We shall seeeeeee.
I have so many classes with older kids. It's only English and health that I have with fellow freshmen. Those are my least favorite. Older kids are cooler.
I can't wait to start taking Spanish next year!

OK YOUR SCHOOL IS SO COOL WITH HELPING PEOPLE BUILDING HOUSES AND MAKING CARE PACKAGES AND STUFF.
I SWEAR MINE ONLY CARES ABOUT FOOTBALL.

I feel that "friends not enthusiastic enough" thing. Like HEY I WORKED UP THE COURAGE TO SPEAK TO ANOTHER HUMAN BEING ABOUT SOMETHING I LIKE! AT LEAST FEIGN EXCITEMEMT, WILL U?

ALSO I REALLY LIKE CAPITAL LETTERS.

    1. Same. Ugh my teacher has the most annoying habit of putting new homework on his website at 11:30 at night the night before it's due and giving detentions to people who didn't do it because for whATEVER REASON they weren't up at 11:30 constantly refreshing his website to make sure there is no last-second hw.
I DON'T UNDERSTAND I'M SUPPOSED TO BE SMART WHY IS EVERYONE SO AHEAD OF ME. (although I'm not that satisfied with my grades at the moment) I don't get to take Adv. Algebra II until next year and Adv. Pre-Calc until the year after that. LUCKY.
Ugh no older kids are scary. You have it easy; you're like, not ten times smaller than they are. They don't accidentally bump into you multiple times a day because they didn't notice you because you're a solid foot below their field of vision. *sighs* I prefer the eighth graders who take classes at my school, personally, because I don't feel insecure about being shorter than they are; also because they're pretty nice; there's this girl named Alanna from my English class and a girl named Isabelle from my geometry class (we ship her with my friend Cressida, btw).
Are you not taking a foreign language this year? Am I the only person in the blogosphere who's not taking a) Spanish or b) French? Is my school the only one in the blogosphere that does not solely offer a) Spanish and b) French?
No actually my school is pretty crappy; they're hella religious and fired a teacher after they found out he was gay a couple years back. I also feel awkward trying to make friends with people as there's a 50% chance they're homophobic and I try to sniff that out first. Also they call detentions "JUGS", or "Justice Under God", which is possibly the most obnoxious thing I've ever heard in my life ever. The people are also hella rich, which not always but generally = hella snooty. There was this adorable girl in my religion class I might have liked had she not turned out to be a jerk who rolled her eyes and looked away disgustedly when I complimented her on her sweater. Her good looks are wasted. I would suggest putting them on you, as you very much deserve them, but I think you are getting on quite well without help in the good looks category.
I KNOW RIGHT LIKE I DO IT FOR YOU NOW HAVE SOME RESPECT FOR THIS FRIENDSHIP.

    2. I just got lucky with math because last year there were almost 20 kids that were ready for geometry, so instead of saying "great job, kids, you can take algebra | again" or having us walk all the way up to the high school, they brought a teacher down to the middle school for us. Mrs. Henry was wonderful.

I think my school only ever offered Spanish and French. Cause dad took French when he went there, but now they only offer Spanish. I didn't take it this year cause we thought my workload would be too much. (Turns out it's not, cause of dumb science teacher.)
I think Spanish and French is usually offered cause the US is sandwiched between Mexico and Canada.

My opinion on your school has changed drastically since I wrote that comment. *shakes fist at your school*
There are at least 2 lesbian couples that I see at my school. Brooklyn is one and Marlenni was the other. (Each has a girlfriend from a grade above us, so I don't know them.)
So at least I know they exist. I'm just waiting. For a girlfriend. Perhaps to carve her phone number into a potato and roll it towards me in way of asking me out.

The JUGS thing made me laugh. Just as much as WATFALG. "We are to fear and love God" was an acceptable answer to any question in my Sunday school/ catechism days.
I dare you to answer a question with WATFALG at your school. That'd be funny.

Let's beat her up and steal her sweaters for our own. *enraged battle cry*
Or let's not, cause we're nice people with better things to do with our time, hopefully.

    3. Oh that sounds cool.
      OHHHHHHHH THAT MAKES SENSEEEEEEEE.
      *shakes fist with you*
      AWWWWWWWWWWW I SHIP ITTTTTTTTTTTTT.
WATFALG but say that out loud. "Wat-falg".
"What is the name of the third Gospel written? Yes, Ellie?"
      "WATFALG."
Something my school is always repeating (and selling overpriced wristbands with the saying on) is WWJD - or What Would Jesus Do. Also all my school's merch, if you can call it that, like spirit shirts and water bottles and stuff, is ridiculously over-priced. Like $30-40 for a shirt?? Is your school like that too, or is mine just that way because we're private and so don't get any money from the government and have to raise everything ourselves? (I got service hours by participating in a phonathon back in November, during which I spent 3 hours making calls, raised $0, and kidnapped two granola bars and a bunch of Kit-Kats to take home.)
Yes, I think we are. And, although her sweaters are cute, they are lacy, and lace is far, far too itchy for my tastes.

  4. Obviously you're magical-- Advanced Chemistry? Dear god, I feel weak just thinking about a class like that.
I haven't officially picked my courses for next year. The school has a rough outline of what we thought we'd like to take from last year or so that we filled out, but I know I'll need to change it because there's no way I'm taking more criminal classes after this year. They're not bad or anything... just not what I want to do, I suppose. I'll just stick to my extensive watching of cop shows and leave it at that.
Dan and Phil playing P.T. was probably my favorite spooky video they did. They're just hilarious in that one. ^_^
I don't watch Doctor Who either, but wow, I'll put forward money as well just so that that could be a thing. xD

    1. Chemistry is actually quite fun - there's a lot of putting liquids tigether and watching them change colors.
Well, at least you've figured out you don't want to do criminology. Experimenting is good, and now you can experiment with more stuff!
We have recommended pathways too, but we can, of course, switch or change if we want.
Yeah, I loved it too. The end was pretty anticlimactic, though - I expected them to be sacrificed during some satanic ritual or get chased by a ghost with an ax, but they were just run into by a ghost and then. End game.
*collects your money* thank you for fhe donation to the cause.

  5. AP EURO IS THE BEST. I absolutely adored that class. SOO FUNN. The best part by far is the French Revolution. And Poland gets taken over so many times that you won't be able to remember who took over first. xD
And I feel ya with the History nerd stuff. I DON'T JUDGE HON, YOU'LL HAVE TONS OF FUN I CAN JUST FEEL IT.
That book looks absolutely fascinating. I can't say that I love the American Revolution very much, but that book sounds like it would be wonderful. :)

    1. My favorite part is always the Roman Empire, followed by Tudor/Stewart England and the Dark Ages.
      Ahhh poor Poland. xD
