RAIN CLOUDS - A Poem by Me
It’s just a rain cloud
hanging over
a dead
tree.
It’s just not enough
And it’s come too late.
It’s trying to

a patch of ground
where
grass
used to grow,
but is dead now.
It’s trying to pull something out of where the

is meant to sweep it.
It’s trying to pull back something that
left
you long ago,
find something that got
lost
but doesn’t want to be found.
All it is is a rain cloud
hanging over
a dead
tree.
It’s just way too little -
And it’s come too late.

I LOVE THIS. I have no useful feedback because I'm like a poetry failure buuuut it was so wonderful and I LOVE how you formatted it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury!
Ahhhhh thank you so much! In terms of the formatting, I took a lot of inspiration from E.E. Cummings, who's one of my favorite poets. :)

ellie this is so pretty!
ReplyDeletei love the way you sectioned off stuff with the different shapes of the verses.
i see it as almost a metaphor because you kinda become angry with them and as the anger lessens, you forgive them. your life shifts and you end up moving on only to have the person come back and try to love you again. only it's too late. and not enough.
gorgeous.
