Moon Full, Purple Sky - A Poem By Me

Moon full
Purple sky
Night silent
Wish divine

Houses lonely
Snow clean
Fences splintered
Pines green

Plants dead
Air cold
Cows asleep
Stories told

Moon full
Purple sky
Night silent
Wish divine.

  3. i had to put together a poetry anthology for English class. 4 poems I wasn't particularly fond of, but then again, im not particularly fond of much. In it was the Ode To The Ones Still Awake, which you already saw. There was also a sonnet about creatures living underground. A sonnet (or at least the ones we did) has 10 syllables in each line, and each stanza's rhyme scheme is ABAB. There are 4 stanza like that, and then 2 more lines at the end that rhyme with each other. I feel like you already knew that, considering the beat poetry thing discussed long ago, but I do so love explaining things I learned.

I just read your bio in the footer and noticed Tuddy was there. He is way bigger than I thought. He must be at least as big as a horse? I had been imagining him the size of a small dog, but horse size is much cooler and more useful for transport or destruction of enimies

    1. I had to do that once, only with poems I hadn't written. (????) We were given a specific theme - like "night" "the city" etc, and had to find four poems on that subject and put them together in a nice packet with a cover page. My theme was music, and I did "Harlem Night Song" by Langston Hughes, some thing about Christmas music by a woman named Emily, a poem about the god Pan's music by Elizabeth someone-or-other, and another poem I've completely forgotten. They were all very excellent poems - especially the one about Pan.

This past Christmas I put together an anthology of all my poetry, just to have it all in an organized place. You could read it if you liked, although it's kinda long so you might not.

I've been told multiple times what a sonnet is in English class, but I never listened. So now I know, which is very good.

He has the magical power to change his size. It is one of the features of his species. His natural state is a small dog, but he can grow bigger for limited periods of time.

  4. I am horrid at poetry, absolutely horrid. But this was so pretty, Ellie. I mostly just stick to fantasy-sci-fi and avoid poetry altogether. But you clearly should STICK to poetry and post some more! ❤
