Current TBR Pile #2

IN WHICH BEING BURIED BY MY TBR PILE CONTINUES.

(Psst - there are a few amazing bloggers out there who have done reviews of some of these books. To see a review, click on the book's title!)

The Anatomical Shape of a Heart by Jenn Bennett

An urban romance with graffiti and renegade street artists? SIGN ME THE HECK UP.

Let's Explore Diabetes With Owls by David Sedaris

I've read parts of David Sedaris's books before and man are they hilarious. I've been wanting to pick up some more of his stuff, but since diving into Wheel of Time and The Vampire Chronicles I've not had the time. However, I am going to make ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY EVERY SINGLE ATTEMPT THAT I CAN to get to this book sometime soon. *nods*

The Fixer by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

One of my guilty reading pleasures is Pretty Little Liars, friendship/romance drama type stuff. Add that to some dystopian political intrigue and I can't resist.

The Girl from Everywhere by Heidi Heilig

DID YOU SAY DRAGONS?!?!? AND A MAIN CAST WITH ETHNIC DIVERSITY!?!? TWO OF MY FAVORITE THINGS IN BOOKS AND I HAVE TO EXPLAIN WHY I WANT TO READ IT?!?!

Merrick by Anne Rice

The next novel in The Vampire Chronicles, this time the POV of the vampires is being merged with that of the young witch Merrick Mayfair, who attempts to help them resurrect the spirit of their dead vampire daughter.

Winter's Heart by Robert Jordan

Winter's Heart is the ninth book in the Wheel of Time series. The eighth, The Path of Daggers, was definitely my favorite thus far, so it'll be interesting to see if WH lives up to its predecessor. Also, I'm hoping we'll get to see something of Mat, who, DESPITE BEING ONE OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS FROM THE BEGINNING, showed neither HIDE NOR TAIL IN THE LAST BOOK. *aggressively waves book*

Let's chat! What have you been reading recently, and what's on your TBR list? Comment below, and have a lovely day. <3

  1. I've heard The Girl From Everywhere is //really// good & I want to pick it up sometime soon. ^-^
There's a whole shelf on my bookshelf devoted purely to my tbr stack (it's so out of control pls help) but I really would like to get to Illuminae and The Demon King soon.
Have you read any Maggie Stiefvater books? I feel like you would really like her Raven Cycle series. :3

    1. Wow. And I though mine was long. (Although to be fair, not all the books are listed here. The rest of The Vampire Chronicles and The Wheel of Time are on the pile, but I figured so it wouldn't get long I should just restrict those two to the ones I'm about to read. If that makes any sense xD.)
No, I've not! But I've been seeing a lot of her work around on book blogs recently, and it looks really good. Hmmm, I may have to check it out.

  3. Winter's Heart was AMAZING. It's actually the only WoT book I have reviewed so far. I'm on book 11. The cliff hanger on book 10 will kill you, jsyk :D
Mat comes up a lot in WH and The Crossroads of Twilight, and....the Daughter of the Nine Moons is in it to now.

    1. I WILL LOOK FORWARD TO IT. I actually feel really bad for Elaida, like I obviously am rooting for Egwene in the Great Amyrlin Smackdown but poor Elaida....I hope she doesn't fare too badly in the end. Alviarin, on the other hand - that's another story.
YES FINALLY I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR HER SINCE LITERALLY THE FOURTH BOOK. And WH is the ninth???

    2. Yeah Winter's Heart is the ninth book, and the Crossroads of Twilight is the tenth XD
UGH Alviarin needs to be gotten rid of ASAP. I really dislike Elaida(I mean she is evil) but at the same time I feel sorry for her just a little because she's in Alviarin's clutches..........

    1. Good to know! Ah, I just heard there were dragons from another blogger who reviewed the book, so I could have read it wrong/she could have been wrong. :)
