Poet Spotlight: Jack Kerouac

Hey, young bloods! On today's edition of Poet Spotlight, I'll be talking about Jack Kerouac, one of my favorite beat poets.

Beat poetry was a poetry movement that emerged from the San Francisco area in the 1950s. The poems were quite unlike what anyone had ever seen before - they openly addressed such issues as sex, drugs, materialism, and conformity. Beat poetry is largely free verse and surrealist, with influences from jazz. Today, I'll be sharing some of my favorites of Jack Kerouac's beat poetry - I hope you enjoy :)

Let's chat! What did you think of these poems? Which one was your favorite? Have you ever heard of Jack Kerouac? Comment below, and remember that you are all very beautiful pickles. <3
