Current TBR Pile #9

Idk fam, I just really like Goodreads.

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

I've been skeptical of the Rainbow Rowell trend for the longest time, primarily because of Eleanor & Park. Now, don't get me wrong, the little I read wasn't bad - it was nicely written, just slow. But I've finally decided to give this author a try with Carry On, which looks fun, humorous, and slightly more fast-paced than Eleanor & Park.

Of Metal and Wishes by Sarah Fine

STEAMPUNK. PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. SIGN ME UP.

Overdressed: The Shockingly High Cost of Cheap Fashion by Elizabeth L. Cline

I'll rarely turn down an intriguing nonfiction, and this is definitely one. It's an issue I'm very interested in learning more about (and the bit I've previewed doesn't look too dry), so I hope to give this a shot soon!

A Shade of Difference by Allen Drury

Advise and Consent by Allen Drury is one of my absolute favorite books ever, and while browsing Goodreads I've discovered that apparently there's a sequel?? In fact, there's a series?? THIS IS THE BEST DISCOVERY OF THE MONTH. I'm absolutely dying to get my hands on this one.

The Boundless Sublime by Lili Wilkinson

Usually I wouldn't go for this sort of horror/cult focused book, but Emily's review piqued my interest. It reminded me of certain sections of The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown, which I really enjoyed, so I hope to give it a try. It's not a suuuuuper high priority, though.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling

SO UM I ACCIDENTALLY FORGOT THAT THIS EXISTED. Seriously. When I was first getting into Harry Potter last summer, I said to myself that I'd read this book after I finished the main series. And then....I kind of....forgot about it?

Oops?

THIS SHALL BE REMEDIED IMMEDIATELY.

  2. Aaaaah Carry On! While I'll admit that it's not the best book ever written, I still love it, it holds a special place in my heart, and it's really cute. It's my comfort book (you now, like a comfort food? But a book?) and I like to read it when I'm down ♥

  3. Goodreads is actually the best.

AND I FEEL BAD BECAUSE I HAVEN'T READ ANY OF THESE BOOKS YET?? Or heard of some of them?? I really need to read J.K. Rowling's book, because, duh. I'm a little bit ashamed that I haven't read it already. xD

  4. I haven't read any of these but Over Dressed sounds really interesting and I would be interested in hearing your thoughts regarding its dryness and if its worth the read. I've only recently been getting into non-fiction.
Goodluck reading these this month :)
