Library Haul + Mini Reviews

Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia - I totally didn't expect to love this as much as I did! Although I didn't think I'd like Eliza, I ended up loving her. And Zappia's writing is always amazing <3 5/5 stars.

Curse of the Night Wolf by Paul Stewart - Not as good as Phantom of Blood Alley, but a good introduction to the series! I loved getting more of Barnaby's backstory. However, some of the plot seemed pretty predictable. 4/5.

Return of the Emerald Skull by Paul Stewart - Started out good, but ended up.....weird. 3/5.

Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh - Haha.....haha.....ha. Click here to see my review of Flame in the Mist, and click here for some more detailed thoughts on why I DNFd it.

The Love Interest by Cale Dietrich - I know a lot of people gave this one and two star ratings on Goodreads, and although I see why, I definitely don't agree. The engaging + real writing style, thrilling + unique plot, and adorable characters swept me off my feet. Even though you can tell this is a debut, it's still a pretty good one. 4/5.

  3. YAAAASSS Eliza and Her Monsters! I want to read this so bad, but my library doesn't have it. Library hauls are my typical way of finding new reads to enjoy, although currently I'm on vacation that I missed my weekly visit. :'(

  4. Great photos!! It still amazes me how some people are so bothered to take book photography to that extent. I take book photography, but I pretty much like to do only one shot because priorities. Anyway. I'm still excited for Flame in the Mist, hope I enjoy it more than you did. And Eliza! Great reviews. :)

  5. I was disappointed to see all of the bad reviews regarding The Love Interest because I thought it seemed REALLY interesting and totally unique, but after this I might just give it a try.

  6. Ooohh look at all those gorgeous library books 😍 I LOVE the library, it is such a wonderful place!! I mean, there are books I can borrow for free. I am totally 100% down for that! Also, when I'm in school, I study a lot at the library. It helps having a place that isn't my room to study in because for whatever reason it majorly improves my focus. I can't pick a favorite photo, though. They're all gorgeous :P

  7. Lol, I just read Eliza and Her Monsters yesterday! xD I totally didn't expect to like it, either, but surprise surprise! Definite five-star.
Thanks for visiting Bookwise! (and supporting the library. As a library-worker myself, I feel like I have to say that, lol!)
