A Quick End of the Year Book Roundup

Tagged by the lovely Hope @ The Reader Addict.

Êl síla erin lû e-govaned vîn! With November drawing to a close, lots of us are starting to look back at our reading year (perhaps fondly rereading some favorites?) or scrambling to achieve our reading goal (the more relatable option). The dearest Hope could not have tagged me to do this end-of-the-year roundup at a better time, so let's get to the questions!

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

The only one I can think of right now is Wuthering Heights (I LOVE IT SO MUCH, Y'ALL, AHHH), which doesn't quite count since I'm reading it for school and know I'm going to finish it. I just DNF'd a book earlier today, so that one's off my chest.

Is there a new release you're still waiting for?

Andy Weir, author of The Martian (best book I've read this year), came out with a nEW BOOK I'M SO EXCITED. It's already out, but I won't be acquiring it until Christmas - my grandma and I are buying each other copies and then reading it together.

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

*horrified whisper* only three?

That's like saying to Kaz Brekker, "Hey, what are THREE and ONLY THREE things you want to steal before the end of the year?"

But I guess if I had to highlight only three, I'd choose these:

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favorite book of the year?

Artemis is definitely a possibility, considering The Martian is my favorite so far.

What's a book you didn't like this year?

The first that comes to mind is this one. Tears of the Giraffe is the second book in the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series by Alexander McCall Smith, but it contains precious little mystery for a book about a detective agency. Instead, it focuses almost entirely on the characters' personal lives. I do like these characters, but they're not what I came to read about.

Let's chat! What's the worst book you've read this year? Which books are you scrambling to finish before the year's end? Comment below, and have a wonderful day. <3

  1. I want to read I Crawl Through It as well. I have been utterly dazzled by the two King books I read, and I hope to read more.
